Information we collect

Repair Cost Calc is a free home repair cost calculator website. We do not require account registration, and the calculator inputs are processed in your browser to produce educational cost ranges. We may collect limited technical and usage information through analytics tools, including page views, device type, approximate location derived from network information, browser type, referring pages, and interactions with site features.

Analytics and advertising

Local Rules answers and evidence snapshots stay in your browser. Explicitly saved checks use localStorage; scope transfers use sessionStorage. Attached checks travel with quote backups you download or import. Local Rules analytics use only controlled action, entry position, scenario and rule-version values, never your answers or repair measurements.

Saved repair scopes, project lists and A/B quote comparisons use this browser's localStorage. Moving to another device does not transfer them. Shared-device users may be able to read them. Each saved comparison, draft and list provides delete or clear controls; clearing site data also removes locally saved work and preferences. Cross-page handoffs use sessionStorage in this browser tab.

Quote amounts, dimensions, names and written scope details are not included in our repair analytics events or public share links. Those events use page and public scenario IDs, model versions, result categories and count buckets. Optional feedback records only a preset category, not free text or documents. It is saved locally, and anonymous delivery may be blocked or disabled.

We may use analytics services, including Firebase Analytics, to understand which calculators and guides are useful to visitors. We may also reserve space for advertising placements. Advertising or analytics partners may use cookies, similar identifiers, or aggregated usage data according to their own policies.

How we use information

We use collected information to maintain the website, improve calculator usability, evaluate content performance, prevent abuse, and understand how visitors use the site. We do not sell personal information that visitors type into calculator fields.

Educational estimates only

Calculator results and guide content are for planning and comparison. They are not contractor bids, engineering opinions, inspections, insurance advice, financial advice, or guarantees of final project pricing.

Your choices

You can limit cookies or analytics storage through your browser settings or device controls. Some site measurement or advertising features may not work as intended if identifiers are blocked.
